Joseph Sawyer appears to have suffered a knee injury in his match with Jeffrey John at tonight’s Game Changer Wrestling event, “The Score.”
In Sawyer’s second match of the night, Sawyer took a cannonball type spot from Jeffrey John while he was in the corner, that saw John land on the knee of Sawyer. After John landed on Sawyer’s knee, Sawyer immediately left the ring and walked around the venue to attempt to “get feeling back” in his knee. He sat down and took his knee brace off while referee Adam Gault checked on him. Sawyer looked irate about the situation, and clearly very frustrated.
He got on the microphone and told fans to “Cheer Babushka” followed by “I think I’m done for months” before getting in a fan’s face. The match was ruled a no contest.
Sawyer took to Twitter to give an update:
“To clear the air. Yes I did get hurt. No I didn’t finish the match. I tried to get the feeling back in my knee to see if I could and sadly I couldn’t. Luckily it seems like it isn’t anything that will put me out for an extended about of time. So yes I think I’ll be okay for now.”
