GCW owner Brett Lauderdale revealed that WWE superstar Chad Gable was originally booked to make his GCW debut at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport X in 2024, but plans changed right before the announcement.
In a series of tweets in response to Twitter user @RealGreenKane, Lauderdale disclosed that Chad Gable was scheduled to compete inside a Bloodsport ring on April 4, 2024 during WrestleMania week in Philadelphia, but plans changed one hour before it was announced. He was set to face Jonathan Gresham at the event.
“It was supposed to be Chad Gable vs Jonathan Gresham and it would have been one of the greatest matches of all time lol. But alas wwe changed course at the last minute because chad wanted to focus on wrestlemania (which i understand). It ended up being a landmark event regardless.”
Bloodsport X featured other WWE stars Charlie Dempsey and Shayna Baszler. Chad Gable did not have a match on WrestleMania 40 that year.
