Joey Ryan is speaking with Jeff Resnick in the back. Joey interrupts him and says that all eyes are on Joey because he is the star of the show. He brings in the ratings, the draw, the merchandise sales. He asks a rhetorical question of how asinine it is for him to be in the Be The Star tournament because he is already a star. His tournament match next week is with SoCal Crazy and he says that like SoCal, Joey used to wear a mask too. His mask was those people. He calls SoCal “Nester” and warns him that next week that not only is he facing “a man with rockstar charisma and moviestar good looks” but that he is facing the first Be The Star Champion.

Match #2: “Boom Boom” Colt Cabana & Willie Mack vs. Joey Kaos’s Disorder (Leo Blaze & 3 others)
Joey Kaos picks 4 of the 8 people in the disorder to get in the ring. None are named so I will try to keep this as easy to follow as possible. Cabana and Mack put all 4 in the corner and splash them. Cabana and Mack then do Jabs and Bionic Elbows on two of them. Cabana and Mack then hit the other two with flying elbows. Mack hits one of them with a big clothesline and an elbow. One of them officially gets a name in Leo Blaze. Cabana hits a fist drop on him. Mack tags in and hits a Suplex for a nearfall but Pinkie (2 are named!) breaks up the fall. One of the other disorder members tags in and eats a Spinning Wheel Kick from Mack. Mack tags in Colt who covers for 2. Leo tags in. The Disorder try a teaming but it doesn’t work. Mack tags in and lays out all 4 members with flying back elbows and clotheslines. All of the Disorder is now on the outside and Mack does a Swanton Dive to the outside onto all of them! Colt throws Blaze in the ring and Mack hits an absolutely DEVASTATING maneuver titled the Chocolate Blackout that can simply be described as a a Fall Away Slam hold into a Fire Thunder Driver. That totally sealed the deal.
Match Result: Willie Mack & Colt Cabana win in 5:06 via Chocolate Blackout.

Jeff Resnick is interviewing The RockNES Monsters in the back. Yuma promises that after the way their last match went down, who knows where their feud will go from here. The Cutlers show up and try to start a brawl with the two of them, but referees break it up.

The two start off with some punches and chops. Rico throws B to the ropes and B counters with several armdrags and a dropkick. B hits a headscissors takedown, sending Rico to the outside. B rolls up Rico, Rico quickly gets up, and B hits a big Flashing Lights (Superkick)! B then goes up top and hits a fantastic Swanton Dive. He has the cover, but Silvia is distracting the ref. Rico then takes one of the crutches that Silvia is on and tries to hit B with it. The ref turns around and takes the crutch away. Rico then throws B to the ropes and Silvia uses the other crutch to hit B in the back with it. Rico immediately hits a Bridging German Suplex for the 1-2-3.
Match Result: Rico Dynamite wins in 5:06 via Bridging German Suplex.

Johnny Loquasto is in the back with Candice LaRae who is returning from suspension next week. Candice elaborates on her reason for suspension (using a chair on Buggy several weeks ago) and compares it to the equivalent of an annoying fly and using a flyswatter to take out the fly. Buggy has challenged her again, and Candice REFUSES!~ She thinks that Buggy does not deserve to get a hand on her.

We get a video of an open hand closing right when a gunshot hits. “Hurt” then plays over text saying “I will fight.”

Match #4: “Be The Star” TV Tournament: “Rock Superstar” Joey Kaos vs. Nick Madrid
As Nick Madrid comes out, The Disorder attacks Madrid and stomp all over him. Referees come out to try to get them out, but cannot. They lay into him with punches as the bell rings. Kaos takes a microphone as The Disorder enters the ring. He demands an NWA Official get out and give him an opponent, otherwise they forfeit the match and give him a victory. This causes Dave Marquez to come out. Kaos tells him to do the smart thing and no one else gets punished. We go to commercial with the decision being next.

Back from commercial, and Marquez says that the match goes to Kaos. However, Nick Madrid comes back out and seems that he will compete. Marquez says that since Madrid is there, he bans the Disorder from ringside and tells them to go to the back. Obviously, the Disorder are not happy about this but Kaos hesitantly OKs it and they head to the back. Madrid enters the ring very slowly, the bell rings, and we are finally underway.

Kaos immediately charges at Madrid and puts him in the corner. Kaos throws Madrid to the corner, but Madrid gets an elbow and a pair of boots. Madrid sunset flips over but Kaos gets out. Madrid picks Kaos up and dropkicks him in the corner. Madrid goes for the Running of the Bulls DDT, but Kaos counters and takes Madrid down with a big clothesline. Madrid kicks out as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial, and Kaos looks to chop Madrid in the corner, but Madrid ducks and tosses Kaos to the other corner and follows up with forearms. Madrid suplexes Kaos. Madrid goes to pick Kaos up, but Kaos grabs Madrid and throws him, so Madrid goes facefirst into the lower turnbuckle, and falls to the outside. Madrid tries to get back in, but Kaos hits a dropkick, sending Madrid back to the outside and into the guardrail. After 9 seconds or so, Madrid gets on the apron, but Kaos guillotines Madrid on the ropes. Kaos then hits a flip into the ring. Kaos hits a scoop slam and looks for a Leg drop off the top, but Madrid moves and proceeds to take down Kaos with clotheslines. He throws Kaos to the ropes and hits a flying knee for a 2 count. Madrid then hits a Side Effect on Kaos and goes to the top turnbuckle. He goes for a crossbody, but Kaos catches him and hits the Kaos Theory (Michinoku Driver) for 2. Kaos looks for a back suplex but Madrid counters and goes for the Running of the Bulls, but Madrid slips up on the ropes and Kaos goes down hard on his head. That looked pretty bad. Kaos rolls his way over to the corner. Madrid charges at Kaos and looks for a splash, but Kaos catches him and drops Madrid throat first on the ropes, Kaos runs to the ropes and hits the Thank You, Goodnight (Running Big Boot) for the win.
Match Result: Joey Kaos wins with the Thank You Goodnight in 8:55 (shown), advancing in the Be The Star tournament.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Another enjoyable episode of NWA Hollywood. No matches were necessarily great, but I did not feel bored at all watching the show. There were some good developments in feuds largely as we continue along to get through the Be The Star tournament.

I thought the finish of the first match of the show was rather clever. The match itself was alright, but it was a good way to continue the feud.

I really, really liked Joey Ryan’s promo. While I am not always nuts about his matches, there is no denying that he is one of the better promo men on the independent scene when he wants to be.

I thought the Mack/Cabana tag was fine, although if they are going to have The Disorder wrestle, they should make the names clear of everyone involved in the match! Again, the finish was absolutely incredible and I highly advise everyone to at least check that out.

I really like the way that the RockNES/Cutlers feud has been going and am still highly anticipating to see where it goes next. Buggy/Candice is also keeping my interest.

Famous B continues to impress me every time that I see him. He and Rico had a fun big power guy vs. fast paced guy-esque match. I hope he eventually gets to get some more exposure.

The main event had quite a bit of pre-match shenanigans, but the match itself was enjoyable once it got started. Like Famous B, Joey Kaos continues to impress and is establishing himself as one of the top heels in the company and is really different from many others in the prominent independents. Madrid showed a lot of heart in his loss, but Kaos winning was certainly the right decision.
