Better than anything I saw in the NPCI tournament for sure.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Gavin Quinn/12:20/***1/2

-Bump N’ Uglies vs. Kris Konflict & Paul Bowser

Match in Five Words or Less: Squash

Match Summary/Analysis: With no announcers, I now have even less chance of identifying which BNU is which. Konflict and Bowser generate very little offense in this three minute squash. Double vertical suplex ends the jobber’s night. No wonder they’re jobbers after losing to a move like that.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Bump N’ Uglies/3:28/1/2*

-Sassy Stephie vs. Arella Angel

Match in Five Words or Less: Sassy

Match Summary/Analysis: Angel is peppy. Stephie sure is… sassy.  They work a headlock before exchanging nearfalls. Stephie works a nice front facelock. The referee makes it abundantly clear Angel says no. Hip toss and elbow drop. Rolling senton into a running senton. Clothesline by Angel. Vertical suplex for two. Side suplex. Stephie is doing all she can to help Angel out. Angel wrestles like she’s really green. Russian legsweep into a modified stretch plum. Referee again makes it clear Stephie says no. `Back suplex for two. Stephie takes her opponent and bridges into a two count. Forearms. Reverse whip. Backbreaker into a neckbreaker by Angel. Referee counts three. That finish sure came out of nowhere. They shake hands after the contest, but Stephie lays in a beatdown. Well, that was mean and uncalled for. Okay match. Both girls worked hard.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Arella Angel/6:15/*1/2

-Bryce Benjamin (CLASH Tag Team Champion) vs. Austin Manix

Match in Five Words or Less: Mannix Mans Up

Match Summary/Analysis: Crowd is clearly behind Benjamin for this one. He shimmies and dances his way during the early portion of the match. Pair of shoulderblocks followed by a springboard splash. Mannix hits a big boot to get the advantage. Clothesline on Benjamin. Choking in the corner. Mannix slows the pace down.  Benjamin manages a dropkick off the top rope. Punch exchange. Knee and leaping enziguri by Benjamin. Sitting spinebuster by Mannix gets a long two count. Series of punches. Benjamin with a charging clothesline. Another charge misses. Mannix hits a spear and gets the pinfall. Big win over one half of the tag team champions. Solid seven minutes delivered by these two. Mannix has a good look and some solid moves. He definitely needs to show more personality in the ring though.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Austin Mannix/7:07/**

-Some chick named Jenny of VH1 “Rock of Love” fame comes out for an interview segment. If you don’t know who she is, go to Wikipedia because I have to watch a bearded and bare-footed man interact with this blonde bimbo. She wants to bring out Cameron Skyy, but Tyler Elkins walks out instead. Elkins speaks pretty eloquently for a caveman. He wants to start a show called “Bedrock of Love.” An absolutely enthralling segment ensues. Elkins is pretty damn good on the microphone at least. Jenny can’t act, nor can she sing. Elkins turns to the business at hand., the Contender’s Cup. He runs his opponents down one at a time. As he’s about to verbally berate Skyy, here he comes. Back and forth jousting. Skyy wants Elkins in a one-on-one match at the next show in their second match. Enough talk. They brawl. Big clothesline takes Skyy down. SHARK ATTACK! STUNNER! STUNNER! STUNNER! GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!

-Tables Match: Wreckingforce (Dragon Kreed and Wreckingball) vs. Sons Of Sanity (Gideon Malice and William J. O’Malley)

Match in Five Words or Less: Tables Gotten

Match Summary/Analysis: Brawl all over the place. Some of the fans even get to chop away at  O’Malley. Picture a smaller Chuck Taylor. Kreed tries to end it quickly, but O’Malley moves the table. He claims to be smart, but he once again gets taken back outside the ring for a stinkface. Kreed puts himself through the table, and I guess he’s eliminated. That leaves Wreckingball to carry the ball for his team. Watching him wrestle by himself for the next few minutes oughta be a real pleasure. Heels double team and do a good job making sure the tables are moved out at just the right time until Wreckingball samoan drops Malice through one. Now it’s one-on-one. We get a ref bump… in a tables match. That’s a neon sign for screwy finish forthcoming. Wreckingball puts O’Malley on the table. On his second try, he splashes him through. And here comes the Bump N Uglies. They put Wreckingball amidst the debris, wake the referee up, and the bell rings. Yup.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Sons of Sanity/10:00/*

-No DQ Match: Ded Vaughn (Tommy Treznik)vs. Ian Decay

Match in Five Words or Less: Short

Match Summary/Analysis: Decay attacks from behind with a chair. Vaughn looks like Abyss if he were wearing all white. Decay looks like a hardcore wrestler wearing 80’s denim vest. Another fight all around the building. Decay covers on the outside, so I guess this is falls count anywhere as well. They head back in the ring. Treznik goes on the apron and rips at Decay’s eyes. Decay has what I believe to be a chain in his hands. Punch to the face and he gets the victory.  Yup.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Ded Vaughn/3:30/1/2*

-Victorious Secret (Cameron Salem & Mason Conrad) vs. TD & Benny Boone

Match in Five Words or Less: Fabulous Part Two

Match Summary/Analysis:  Boone says he’s going to show why he’s going to be the best in Clash Wrestling. Salem quickly dropkicks him and Victorious Secret goes to work. TD stands on the apron while his partner takes a beatdown. TD, who I’ve seen make some positive showings in AAW, tags in to take on Salem. Shoulderblocks on Salem. Conrad comes in, and the pace picks up. Boone hits a blind knee to the back. Right hand. Heat segment on Salem. TD doesn’t seem thrilled with his partner’s tactics. Salem with a boot out of the corner. Reverse facebuster and a tag to Conrad.  He’s a house of fire on Boone. Nice belly-to-belly suplex for a two count on Boone. Double team work on Conrad. Victorious Secret takes control. Conrad hits something to get the victory on Boone. Finish was out of nowhere, but the match was okay.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Victorious Secret/9:43/**

-Contenders Cup: Cameron Skyy vs. Dave Manzo vs. Mena Libra vs. Sharkboy vs. Tommy Treznik vs. Tyler Elkins

Match in Five Words or Less: Manzo Gets A Trophy

Match Summary/Analysis: Winner of this becomes the number one contender for the heavyweight title. This is also an elimination style contest. Tags are necessary. Manzo starts with Treznik. Treznik becomes distracted, so Manzo grabs his arm. Feeling out process Elkins takes advantage and attacks Manzo. Manzo exits. Skyy tags in. Elkins leaves? Don’t they have a feud going? Mena Libra enters. Skky tries punching her, but Libra hits a nice northern lights suplex. Skyy quickly rolls her up, but he’s not legal due to tagging Treznik. Quick series of roll-ups by Libra. Sharkboy tags and sends Treznik into all the turnbuckles. Ten punches in the corner. Isn’t he a heel? Bulldog for two. Elkins comes in for his revenge from earlier and wants a test of strength… no Sharkboy outsmarts Elkins. He grabs hair and works a headlock. Manzo tags and hits a vertical suplex. Elbow drops. Treznik takes a cheap shot. Elkins powerslams Manzo and nearly gets three. Blatant choking. Many of the heels work Manzo over. Manzo gets Treznik down and tags in Sharkboy. He’s a house of fire on the two guys with the longest hair. Thesz press and right hands on Treznik. Neckbreaker on Elkins. Russian legsweep by Skyy. He brings out the cards, but Elkins guillotines him. Stunner  by Sharkboy eliminates Skyy in 10:45. Elkins gets revenge of his own with an exploder that eliminates Sharkboy in 11:03. Manzo forearms Elkins and gets two. Elkins takes him over in the corner. Manzo sends him down and hits a swanton. Treznik  with a twisting gutbuster and flatliner. Neckbreaker by Libra and everyone is down. Skyy charges back in the ring and works over Elkins. All Libra has to do is cover at 17:05 to take Elkins out. Treznik misses a charge in the corner. Libra backs that ass up. Samoan drop into a bridge. Treznik reverses into a cover for two. Bus Driver eliminates Libra in 18:09. Down to Manzo and Treznik. Right hand exchange. Manzo takes control until Treznik hits a bicycle kick. Leg drop off the top for two. Bus Driver countered. Treznik manages a roll-up for two. F-5 by manzo. 1-2-3! This was an okay main event to send the fans home happy. I wish the roles of each wrestler were clearly more defined though.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Tommy Treznik/20:38/**1/2

Line of the Night: No commentary and not a single promo. Not sure many lines were even said.

Finish of the Night: At least Manzo won clean in the main event.

MVP: Gavin Quinn is clearly a step above many of the other wrestlers on the Clash roster. He is an excellent performer who I hope can get bookings elsewhere in the Midwest.

The Verdict: The opener to this show was quite excellent, and it’s too bad nothing else could top it.
