EVOLVE 17 started with AR Fox, Jigsaw, Ricochet Lince Dorado Jon Davis and Rich Swann in the ring arguing that they want an EVOLVE Championship belt which was obviously spurned by the video that was put out by Davis. Could it be headed towards a creation. The following segment was telling in my opinion (Chris GST)
Open The Freedom Gate champion Johnny Gargano came out and told Davis he would put his Title on the line in their match. So it turned into Gargano vs Davis, Title vs Career.
Open The Freedom Gate match: Johnny Gargano defeats Jon Davis via count out
Gargano puts Davis over and says he doesn’t want to see Davis retire that way. Jon Davis attacks Gargano and awesome bombed him over the top rope threw a table on the floor!
So what does this mean for Jon Davis? He technically lost. According to Tom Richards they have not really mentioned it on commentary since the event. Obviously the post match angle points to Davis returning but does it really do anything? IMO it is kind of weak (Chris GST, feel free to let me know your thoughts in comments section on on twitter @cgstong)

Christina Von Eerie defeats Marti Belle
Sami Callihan and Pinky Sanchez defeat The Scene: Caleb Konley & Scott Reed when Sami Callihan makes Scott Reed tap out to the Callihan death clutch
Callihan called out Masada
Masada defeats Sami Callihan via tap out which is a follow up on the feud these two men have had in other promotions and where Sami has forced Masada to tap on several occasions.
Rich Swann and The Super Smash Bros defeat Chuck taylor, Drew Gulak, and Orange Cassidy via Rich Swann gets the pin on Drew Gulak
Ricochet defeats AR Fox in what seems was a crazy match.
Main Event: El Generico def Samuray Del Sol via brainbuster on the top turnbuckle
Reportedly Lenny Leonard stated there will be an EVOLVE title coming.
