PWX Live & In Demand Night 1
ShoreOpensTheShow
PWX returned to Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC for night 1 of a doubleheader. On night 1 it was the 3rd segment of Cedric Alexander’s Dream match series as he took on current DGUSA champion Johnny Gargano. In addition, PWX champ Caleb Konley defended against Mr Elite Drew Myers, the PWX return of Adam Page. Also Los Ben Dejos, Mia Yim, Ivelisse Velez made their PWX debuts & much more! We’ll take a look at the entire event, as well as the fallout during night 2. The following is….
#1MansOpinion
Adam Page def Lance Lude
PagevsLude PagevsLude2
Page returned to PWX after recently signing an ROH contract and got right back to business where he began making his name, in the Carolinas. Page faced Lance Lude, a strange but talented newcomer to PWX. While Lude gave the country boy from Aaron’s Creek, VA all he could handle in his return, Page picked up the win in his return. ** 3/4
Jake Manning and Los Ben Dejos defeated Chase Brown and Worst Case Scenario
ChaseJakeStaredown6ManTag 6ManTagFinish
This match began with Chase Brown bragging in the ring about the fact he could “ride any man”(eluding to his catch wrestling talents) but once Brown said he has the best mustache in Charlotte, The Manscout Jake Manning took exception & challenged Brown. The match barely got underway and Worst Case Scenario hit the ring to try  and soften Manning up for their impending tag title shot. It was then, the PWX crowd got the unexpected debut of Los Ben Dejos. Rios & Cruz evened the odds and a 6 man tag was made. The West Coast Team of Los Ben Dejos thrilled the crowd & nearly gave WCS talent representative THE Tommy Thomas an aneurysm in the process! Rios & Cruz utilized their high octane, quick offense to neutralize Ethan Case & Elijah Evans IV, which allowed The Manscout to hit the Piledriver on Chase Brown to get the win for his team. ***
Shane Strickland defeated Trevor Lee
StricklandvsLee StricklandvsLee2
We got another PWX debut here with “The King of Swerve” Shane Strickland dancing his way from CZW to PWX & into a battle with “The Head Honcho” Trevor Lee. Like him or hate him(most choose the latter) Lee is one of the best in ring talents in the Carolinas. Strickland quickly won the crowd over & used his speed to get the advantage over Lee. Trevor comes to compete & does so with a nasty streak, The Head Honcho gave Strickland everything he could handle, but in the end Strickland picked up a  huge win in his debut. *** 1/2
4. Amber O’Neal and Ivelisse defeated Amanda Rodriguez and Mia Yim
The debuts continued as PWX brings us the best men’s & women’s talent the world has to offer. Ivelisse debuted successfully alongside PWX mainstay Amber O’Neal to take on the debuting Mia Yim & Amanda Rodriguez, who has had her share of run ins with O’Neal. Velez & Amber isolated the younger Rodriguez and though Mia tried to save the match for her team, “The Huntress” & “The Ice Queen” picked up the win. ** 1/4

Rich Swann defeated Andrew Everett in a clash of two high flyers.
SwannvsEverett SwannvsEverett2
Once again. PWX bringing in THE best talent the indies have to offer and the crowd benefited from this one as we got Rich Swann taking on the Former Chiva Kid, Andrew Everertt. These two had a lot of fun in the beginning, including a test of strength turning into a disco dance showdown. Once Swann & Everett started matching moves with one another, neither could get the early advantage. Both displayed great chain wrestling and reversals.  It wasn’t until the two took to their comfort zones & began flying that Swann emerged as the better man on this night. Everett continues to show he’s one of the brightest young talents out there. Rich Swann proved he is one of the most exciting unsigned talents in the world with a huge victory in his PWX debut.  *** 1/4
Marcellus King and Corey Hollis defeated Chip Day and Zane Riley
Up next, was a tag team grudge match. Corey Hollis teamed with Marcellus King to take on Hollis’ Former tag partner, current ITV champ Chip Day and “The Party Manimal” Zane Riley. Zane was looking for revenge on King who turned on Riley at the last PWX show, while the former Generation Kill teammates have been battling for months while establishing their singles careers. Corey Hollis has a one track mind these days and that’s a laser focus on the PWX championship, the talented man from Tuscaloosa also has a mean streak that fit well with The Mid-Atlantic Monster Marcellus King. Riley & Day were having fun(when you’re teaming with the Party Manimal it’s the only choice) This one broke down & soon the fun was over. Day handed out his trademark  kicks, and Riley hit the Cannonball, but Hollis & King made their partnership a successful one using their mean streaks to their advantage getting the win over the crowd favorites in a fun, fast paced & hard hitting tag match. ***

Cedric Alexander defeated Johnny Gargano
GarganovsCedGarganovsCed2 CedFinishesGargano
Alexander continues to have classic matches with the best talent the Indy scene has to offer, while proving he is one of the best himself. With “Dream Match” wins over Jay Lethal and Tommaso Ciampa, Cedric took on long time DGUSA champion Johnny Gargano. As is the case with most matches involving “Kick 2 Kill” this is a MUST SEE! Gargano & Alexander matched one another hold for hold for 20 + minutes in a match that had PWX fans out of their seats. In the end Cedric Alexander picked up another huge win & remains undefeated in his Dream Match Series. **** 1/2 MOTN
Caleb Konley defeated Mr Elite Drew Myers to retain the PWX championship
ElitevsKonley ElitevsKonley3 ElitevsKonley4 ElitevsKonleyFinish
Mr Elite picked up a huge, controversial  win last month over Eddie Edwards and caught the eye of PWX management. Myers seemed confident in leaving Charlotte as the new champion, but went a step too far bringing his opponent Caleb Konley’s girlfriend Amanda Rodriguez into his pre match bravado. The PWX champion dispelled with the niceties and stormed the ring attacking Myers & dragging him throughout Tremont Music Hall looking to humble Mr Elite & retain his title quickly. Myers does have loads of talent to back up his talk and fought back using his amateur background and some excellent suplexes to nearly make good on his promise to be the next champion. In the end Myers got a chair to finish the job after referee Mitch Blalock was knocked down. After several shots to Konley’s ribs, Amanda Rodriguez came out to take the chair from Myers. Mr Elite licked his lips and turned his attention to Amanda with bad intentions. This allowed The Midnight Son to recover & lock Myers in the “OH! Face” to retain the PWX championship once again. ***
The PWX champ embraced his girlfriend after the match but let the crowd know that he did not forget his PWX title (which we hadnt seen all night) Konley said Corey Hollis had taken the title & Hollis appeared on the ramp with the PWX gold. As Hollis taunted the rightful PWX champ, Konley told Hollis “boys will play with their toys” and to go ahead & play with his toy because he’s the real champion until Hollis proves differently in the ring. Hollis left with the PWX title held high above his head.

#1MansFINALOpinion: PWX stacked permanent roster continues to be even stronger with the best Indy talent in the world being brought in to challenge the Carolinas best. Live & In Demand had it all from Rich Swann & Andrew Everett two of the best high flyers in the business, to great women’s talent, and two of the absolute best Indy talents in an instant classic with Gargano vs Alexander. PWX offered storylines between WCS & lone tag champion Jake Manning, Corey Hollis absconding with the PWX title and more that are essential to bringing the fans more into the product, anticipating what will happen next. Caleb Konley continues to retain the biggest prize in the company against great challengers and PWX proves once again that they won’t settle for the success already achieved & will  continue to improve & put on the best shows on the independent wrestling scene. If you haven’t already get on board with PWX now!

PWX Live & In Demand Night 2
PWX returned for night 2 of their doubleheader, this time from Concord’s Cabarrus Arena. Champion met champion in the main event as PWX heavyweight champion Caleb Konley defended against ITV champ Chip Day. Also the “Only legitimate tag team in PWX” The Worst Case Scenario finally got their shot at tag team gold, against the lone tag champion* “Manscout” Jake Manning. In addition to those matches Rich Swann, Shane Strickland, Los Ben Dejos. Ivelisse, & Mia Yim returned after their PWX debuts the night before. We’ll take a look at the full event from start to finish which you can see online at midnight mayhem TV or locally in North & South Carolina starting Sept. 6 Saturday mornings from 5 am- 6 am EST The following is….

Los Ben Dejos def  Lance Lude & Mr Elite Drew Myers when Rios pinned Lude w/ a springboard 450.
OpeningTag
Lucha stars Cruz & Rios made it a clean sweep with another victory in their PWX doubleheader debut. Though, Lude & Elite never seemed on the same page in this one, this was a very nice opener with four great young talents. Los Ben Dejos were very impressive & thrilled the crowd. Rios & Cruz could make a big impact on the PWX tag division if they’re brought back more regularly.  ***
Zane Riley def Shane Strickland after 2 Death Valley drivers
ZaneStickland ZaneStricklandFinish
On paper this is a bit of an odd matchup but Riley & Strickland entertained the crowd, not only with a lot of comedy but a good back and forth matchup as well. Riley scored what I would call a huge win over the “King of Swerve” after two Death Valley drivers. Much like the other guest talents on this show, Strickland fit in nicely and I’d enjoy seeing more of him in PWX. As for “The Party Manimal” he continues to be one of the bigger crowd favorite in PWX. ** 3/4
Mia Yim & Ivelisse Velez went to a double Countout after Amber O Neal & Amanda Rodriguez came out & the 4 ladies brawled to the back.
Yim & Ivelisse were having a nice back & forth matchup, brawling around the ringside area until their tag partners from the previous night got involved. Amber O’Neal first came out to assist Velez which brought out Amanda Rodriguez to even the odds. The match was declared a double Countout but this seems far from over between these four ladies. ** 1/4

Corey Hollis def Rich Swann with a roaring elbow in a phenomenal match.
SwannHollis HollisWins
Swann is one of the more exciting talents PWX has brought in recent memory. Both nights Swann faced two of the company’s best & brought his high flying, high energy style to the southeast with great success. On this night Swann met the most bitter man in the PWX locker room, Corey Hollis. Hollis has been saying for months that he is being overlooked as the rightful # 1 contender to the PWX championship (and his in ring performance can make a case he is right) Hollis & Swann had a great, show stealing match in Concord with Hollis further cementing his point with a huge victory. **** MOTN
ThomasFaction
Next up The Tommy Thomas comes out with his full client roster. Worst Case Scenario, Craig Huffman & Chase Brown. Thomas went over the accolades of each man & says WCS will be tag champs by nights end, Huffman is a future PWX champ & then Thomas got to Chase Browm’s future. Which isn’t so bright… Huffman attacked the catch wrestling master Chase Brown & an impromptu match was started.
Craig Huffman dominates Chase Brown pinning him with a swinging urinagi.
HuffmanAttacksChase
This was a really good segment altogether. THE Tommy Thomas is as good an Indy manager as I’ve seen in quite some time. Expanding his stable is a great idea. Huffman is a big, imposing force & should do well with Thomas as a mouthpiece. Chase Brown continues to gain favor with PWX crowds but was completely dominated on this night. Perhaps, a rematch in the future when Brown isn’t jumped from behind? *** 1/4(Segment)
Manscout Jake Manning def Worst Case Scenario (Elijah Evans IV & Ethan Case) by DQ to retain the PWX tag titles  after interference from Craig Huffman & The Tommy Thomas
MoveOfTheNighWCS TagTitles
“Manscout” Manning once again stepped into the ring to defend the tag titles alone as his partner John Skyler is still on tour in the UK. WCS seemed ready to take their place atop the PWX ladder but got more of a fight from Manning than expected. In the end, Huffman & Tommy Thomas got involved & the match was awarded to The Manscout by DQ. If I know, THE Tommy Thomas, this is not the end of WCS quest for tag team gold. ** 3/4
Caleb Konley def ITV champ Chip Day via submission w/ the OH! Face  to retain the PWX title.
DayKonley
A really good main event put on by the two singles champions to end an excellent double header weekend for PWX. This was a unique match as well, as ITV rules state all matches for that title are 10 minutes. Konley nearly became a double champion on several occasions but, Day held “The Midnight Son” off & retained his championship. The match continued it & it was day going on the offensive to try & leave Concord with all the singles gold. Konley has beaten the best throughout the last year & got all he could handle on this night from “Do or Die” Chip Day. The ITV champion has really broken out since being abandoned by tag partner Corey Hollis & continues to look better & better each title defense. Day has some of the best striking, particularly kicks and always utilizes them to perfection. As we know from past defenses, Konley does not take anyone lightly & he answered each offensive strike with innovative offense of his own. After over 20 minutes, including Day avoiding the OH! Face once, Konley locked it in a second time for the submission victory. *** 3/4
Konley immediately grabbed the mic after the match & showed Chip Day a great deal of respect for giving it his all each night but that was cut short as Corey Hollis appeared with the velvet bag containing the PWX championship he stole from Konley the night before.
HollisConfrontsCaleb PullApart
The rightful PWX champ invited Hollis to the ring & the two brawled. As the Show ended the lockerroom emptied, As the roster pulled apart the two foes, Konley grabbed the bag but it was NOT his championship inside. and Hollis left once again with Konley’s PWX title.
#1MansFINALOpinion: PWX once again proves they’re the best in the southeast with another great show top to bottom. The angles & storylines were much stronger and have the crowd wondering what’s next, and that makes for a successful show. Add to that the best permanent talent roster in NC combined with always improving guest talent & PWX is a product you MUST check out.
Overall: 8.5/10
