BCB! BCB! BCB! Has been a familiar chant in Burke County, NC for several years at many wrestling shows. The Burke County Boys(Big Donnie, Terry Houston, & Porkchop Cash Jr) developed quite a following and have since taken the BCB on tour through Indiana, Ohio, Alabama and more. I recently had the chance to sit down with the biggest & most menacing member of The BCB, Big Donnie. On September 8 in Concord, NC Big Donnie will finally get his shot at the $5 Wrestling championship currently held by $5 mega star Freight Train! And it all happens live on Ippv at highspots.com Donnie & I talked about this huge matchup, the future of $5 Wrestling, The rest of the Burke County Boys interest in this match & much more in this exclusive interview with the man who took Cliff Compton to the limit last time $5 Wrestling was on ippv.
Thank you for your time Big Donnie, I know you & The Burke County Boys are preparing for what you must see as the ultimate step in your domination of $5 Wrestling.
Q: Let’s get straight to it. What are your thoughts on the current champion Freight Train? It’s no mystery he’s loved my fans all over. You two have met in tag matches & six man matches but what makes Sept 8 different?
A:”I have watched freight train in these matches and we have squared off a few times.I know his weaknesses and He is a great fan favorite but come Sept 8th Big Donnie becomes your new heavyweight champion.”
Q: Jake Manning has stated that Sept. 8 will be the end of his creation, $5 Wrestling. Are you concerned about the promotion ending? Especially when you claim you will leave Concord as the company’s new champion?
A: “Five Dollar Wrestling will continue I don’t know Manning’s plans but I know the fans support and enjoy the product and they are ready for Big Donnie to take home the big prize.”
There are a lot of Freight Train fans out there, I’m sure the crowd will be full of fans looking for him to keep that belt on his smooth belly. But there is no doubt some fans may be ready for a changing of the guard.
Q: What if anything can Big Donnie & The Burke County Boys bring to $5 Wrestling to maybe convince Jake that the company still can run?
A: “We have always been a cohesive unit and we work together as well as anyone. We bring a different aspect to the product by adding a serious punch in the mouth feeling. I think that is what alot of the 5 dollar fans enjoy it’s not all jokes. Go back look at me and Compton. We beat the hell out of each other to establish the product!! To legitimize it!! I didn’t hear one chuckle.”
Legitimizing $5 Wrestling? You’re staring to convince me that maybe Big Donnie as $5 champ COULD be what the promotion needs.
Q: Lets switch gears and talk about your past, for those who don’t know, How long have you been wrestling? What got you into the business? What motivates you for matches like this one on Sept. 8, which I’m sure you count amongst your biggest in your career so far?
A: “I’ve been wrestling since late 1991 & I wanted to be a wrestler my entire life and in high school at the ripe old age of 16 I got that chance with some guys that had a ring in their basement. I have came along way since then have got to wrestle the Rock and Roll express, Bobby Eaton, The Barbarian, Compton, Mike Sanders, George South and have got to be around so many of the legends I grew up watching. From Jimmy Valiant and Wahoo to Jerry Lawler. And all the great hard hitting matches I had with Jimmy Golden Early in my career have stood the test of time and could still main event now.I have also had some great matches against my partner Porkchop Cash Jr, they were legendary.”
“My motivation for any match is go tear the house down give the people their moneys worth and get the win. And then their is my daughter Page Webb she has kept me going.Our motto for each other is NEVER GIVE UP. She was a fighter from day one and it drives me to be the best and we will be smiling as I hold the 5 dollar heavyweight title.”
I had no idea you had 20 + years ring experience! That has to work in your favor this Sunday. “Never Give Up” is a strong motto just as your bond with Page seems to be. Sounds like you have all the motivation you need to get things done, for her, yourself and The Burke County Boys.
Q: Have you had discussions with the rest of the BCB about how much or how little they’ll be involved on Sept. 8? Are you concerned at all that you may need them to ensure you take the title? Freight Train has proven unbeatable since winning that $5 championship quite some time ago.
A: “Burke County Boys don’t need no game plan we react to what we see and we do what needs to be done at any given moment. Ask Solo Cup , Little Donnie and Kornbread how things came out for them in Alabama.Not good! They know I can beat Freight Train on my own but not saying they won’t just give me a break” *Big Donnie laughs*

Q: Before we go is there a final message you’d like to send directly to the current $5 champion Freight Train?
A: “Freight I’m coming for you brother and that 5 dollar heavyweight title you hold so close. The Burke County Boys have run roughshod through the company. Freight you have stood strong you were jumped by Jake Manning, your best friend and I Know you’re hurt. The Train is close to derailment and above the wreckage will be the BCB celebrating Big Donnie’s Five Dollar title win.”
Wow! Very confident, going into this big matchup. Tell me, What does the future of $5 Wrestling look like if you.. Big Donnie DO leave Concord as the new $5 champion?
A: “Bigger and Better things Jer. Big opponents maybe even a return to Compton. I’ve heard the rumors and know the fans would love to catch that again just believe me alot of things in future for 5 dollar Wrestling. I’m going to hold MY heavyweight title close and watch things happen. And The Burke County Boys?? They’re going to continue to run wild! Whether it be the Carolinas, Alabama, Ohio, New York, California no matter where from coast to coast we will go and prove there is just one way to do things… the Burke County way!!
