Last week, The Business picked up and The Bev seemingly showed a change of heart. This week we’re slowly pulling into the Season Two finale with some great matchups. In particular, we have scores waiting to be settled and the fates of Bobby Beverly and the Heavy Hitters Championship to be determined. With that out of the way, lets get right into the action!

Kerry Awful (1-0) vs Hardway Heeter (0-3)

This fight comes after Kerry Awful previously tried firing up Hardway Heeter with a smack after his loss to Austin Connelly. Ever the teacher, Kerry Awful, really made an example out of Heeter with some stuff strikes and demoralizing grappling expertise. This didn’t stop Heeter from finally snapping and suplexing Kerry’s lights out; forcing the towel to be thrown in on Kerry’s behalf. Post-fight, the teacher and student shared an embrace and as it seems, the fences were mended and Heeter gained his edge.

Appollo Q Starr (0-1) vs Sidney Von England (0-1)

Both these men debuted on the same episode and lost their respective debut so they’re both in must win territory. This was a wrestling match through and through as both men opted to settle things on the mat. England did a tremendous job asserting himself to the veteran Starr on the mat and standing up as he was able to transition out of some rough patches. In the end, Starr managed to pull himself up from a knockdown and defeat England with an Arm Trapped Exploder Suplex for the ref’s ten count. Post-fight, Starr took to the mic to say that after some soul searching 2021 is the year he kicks all asses.

Isaiah Broner (3-1) vs Dustin Leonard (1-1)

Styles clash in this one as Dustin Leonard brings his Ju-Jitsu stylings against Broner’s stand up stylings. Dustin effectively utilized his expertise to rope Broner into grappling only to punish the big man with submissions. Broner, going back to what he does best, absolutely stumped Leonard with a headshot on a takedown attempt and won the fight via knockout! Post-fight, Isaiah Broner responded to Alex Kane’s challenge, telling him to step up if he wants a shot.

Gnarls Garvin (2-1) vs Ron Bass Jr. (0-1)

The meat is sure to be slapped as these two heavy hitters collide in the middle of the ring. These two big men scrapped it out, throwing haymakers and slams that’d break weaker men. Size was firmly on Bass’ side as any suplexes by Garvin would prove to need some extra elbow grease. Garvin threw some strong headshots to throw Bass off his balance before nailing a nasty Saito Suplex for the ref’s ten count. Post-fight, Garvin made his intentions clear: he is going to kick Lord Crewe’s head off and avenge his sole loss.

Cole Radrick (3-3) vs Robert Martyr (2-2)

Cole Radrick told Robert to “f*ck around and find out” and now here we are. These two came out extra heated out of the gate trading Palm Strikes and dumping each other onto the ground. Robert Martyr showed a spark of life, striking with the stoic Radrick after picking himself off the ground but Radrick would level him with a stiff Elbow for the knockout. Post-fight, Cole Radrick gave a lesson in respect to Martyr before saying he’s the man for the new UWFi Super Middleweight Championship.

Heavy Hitters Championship: Bobby Beverly (4-2) vs Matt Makowski (C) (1-0)

The Bev, now sporting the 44.OH green has dire stakes in this fight as if he loses against Makowski, he’s gone from Paradigm. Both men traded some heavy Saito Suplexes early on with Beverly using the outside of the ring to get some separation from Makowski. Matt would proceed to hungrily jump on Beverly with strikes until The Bev landed one heavy Palm Strike to the head for the knockout win. Post-fight, Team Filthy wasted no time jumping on Bobby before Matthew Justice could make the save. Justice declared The Lifers would be reuniting one last time to finish their business with Team Filthy.

Final Thoughts & Superlatives

This week’s episode was noticeably more of a slugfest versus episodes that have come before with every fight in this one ending via knockout or stoppage. That being said this episode also geared me up towards next week and beyond. Cole Radrick staking his claim to the incoming Super Middleweight Title and The Lifers bringing back UWFi Tag Team competition amongst other events have me eager for next week’s finale and June’s tournament. Before we get to the superlatives, it should go without saying that there will be no Submission of the Night honors as no fights ended via tap out. With that being said, here are the episode’s Superlatives:

Fight of the Night: Appollo Q Starr vs Sidney Von England

Performance of the Night: Cole Radrick

Knockout of the Night: Appollo Q Starr

Submission of the Night: N/A
