The third episode of MLW Fusion Alpha featured Jacob Fatu defending his MLW Heavyweight Championship against Matt Cross. Other matches on this episode included 5150 vs. Injustice and Ashley Vox vs. Willow Nightingale. MLW Fusion Alpha Episode #3 can be viewed by watching the video below:

Strong Points of the Show

  • I am very excited for Bobby Fish to debut in MLW. Fish is really talented dude, and I am eager to see him mix it up with some of the younger stars on MLW’s roster.
  • Willow Nightingale is a really entertaining competitor to watch. Her and Ashley Vox ended up wrestling a fun match. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of the women’s featherweight division in the future.
  • After a long hiatus, seeing Josef Samael at ringside with Jacob Fatu was really nice. Samael’s animated behavior adds an important layer to the overall presentation of CONTRA, and I’m glad that he’s back to being at ringside.

Weak Points of the Show

  • The ending of the match between Injustice and 5150 was a bit off. There seemed to be a small timing error between Julius Smokes and Jordan Oliver.
  • During the backstage interview with the Sea Stars, I wish that Brittany Blake would have gotten more of a formal introduction. Blake only appeared briefly, and it was hard to pick up on who she was based on what she said and the reaction of the other individuals present.
  • Alexander Hammerstone’s backstage assault on Daivari did not look very strong. Some of the punches thrown looked kind of weak, which took away from my enjoyment of the segment.

Match Results

  • 5150 (Slice Boogie and Rivera) (with Julius Smokes and Konnan) defeated Injustice (Jordan Oliver and Myron Reed) via pinfall.
  • Willow Nightingale defeated Ashley Vox (with Delmi Exo) via pinfall.
  • MLW Heavyweight Championship Match: Jacob Fatu defeated Matt Cross via pinfall to retain the MLW Heavyweight Championship.

  1. that in no way was a review, literally looks like you drunkenly watched it then realized the 10 bucks you’d get paid if you didn’t give something as a review wouldn’t deprive you of your next 6 pack. i just watched it and there’s a lot of shit that happened important to the story. couldn’t even mention Hammerstone taking it to Mads Krugger in a backstage segment, or how The Sea Stars were doing a promo and Willow came and embraced her friends before her match against Vox, then a lady who’s name i missed shut down the happiness to challenge Willow.

  2. I am not saying this to be sarcastic: thank you for commenting. I have never known whether readers appreciate shorter or longer recaps. More so, whether readers want only highlights of the show or more details included. I can definitely work on including more info about what happens on episodes of Fusion in the future.
