Hey everyone! Welcome to this week’s MLW Fusion Azteca Recap. The first match on tonight’s show was Arez vs Extreme Tigre. Then, El Hijo del Vikingo defended his AAA Mega Championship against Aramis. And in the main event, Alex Hammerstone defended the MLW World Heavyweight Championship against Octagon Jr. MLW Fusion Azteca episode 4 can be viewed below:

Strong Points of the Show

  • Watching El Hijo del Vikingo wrestle tonight was extremely entertaining. That dude is incredibly agile.
  • The Crybaby Calvin sponsorship segment was awesome. In particular, the “don’t be a hoe” line cracked me up.
  • Seeing Cesar Duran turn down a fan with a headshake was great. Duran played that moment off like a classic heel.

Weak Points of the Show

  • I am glad that Arez’s alliance with Holidead and Dr. Dax was acknowledged during the opening contest. However, I do wish that we could have seen more of Holidead, or any member of the featherweight division, throughout this mini-series.
  • Based on the Von Erichs’ inability to wrestle this past Friday, I dislike how there was a reference to a future match happening between 5150 and the Von Erichs in Dallas. At this point, teasing a match between 5150 and the Von Erichs feels like false advertising on MLW’s part.

Other Highlights/Notes

  • 5150 played dice backstage while discussing how they would take out all the teams in MLW. Cesar Duran appeared and asked Rivera and Slice Boogie to wrestle the Von Erichs.
  • Another mysterious vignette aired. This time, the vignette featured an hourglass and a car speeding down highways.
  • Arez came down to the ring near the end of the AAA Mega Championship and attacked Arez, costing Arez the match.
  • EJ Nduka talked about his family and his time at the WWE Performance Center. Additionally, Nduka promised he would take over MLW in 2022 and win gold.
  • EJ Nduka will compete next week. Additionally, a Trios Match featuring Alex Kane, Extreme Tigre, and a third competitor vs. El Hijo del Vikingo, Laredo Kid, and Octagon Jr was announced for next week’s broadcast.
  • Mads Kruger promised to brutalize Jacob Fatu. Later on, Rich Bocchini told the audience that Jacob Fatu would be featured on next week’s show.
  • Bocchini and Joe Dombrowski announced that the Opera Cup trophy had been stolen from Davey Richards. Furthermore, Dombrowski and Bocchini stated that the thief was still unknown at this time.
  • Once the main event concluded, Cesar Duran ordered his henchmen to attack Alex Hammerstone. The show ended with Hammerstone and Richard Holliday fighting off Duran’s army.

Match Results

  • Arez defeated Extreme Tigre via pinfall.
  • AAA Mega Championship Match: El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Aramis via pinfall to retain the AAA Mega Championship.
  • MLW World Heavyweight Championship Match: Alex Hammerstone defeated Octagon Jr. (with Cesar Duran) via pinfall to retain the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.
