The second episode of “Striking Distance” will have 2 tag team matches. The first is a match between 2 of the best tag teams currently in independent wrestling in Violence Is Forever, Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku, and YoKai, Janai Kai and Yoya. VIF is multiple time IWTV tag team of the year and dominates the tag team divisions everywhere they go. They are taking on one of the fastest rising teams in YoKai, who in the past year have competed in top promotions like JCW and Beyond. They have amazed crowds with their speed, strikes and unique offense.

VIF is looking to re-establish themselves as the top tag team after Dom has been out with an injury.  Dom and Yoya start the match and Dom uses his size advantage to take Yoya down and they jockey for position on the mat. Janai and Ku come in the match, both who are incredible strikers. Ku is able to connect first with a forearm. Kai comes back with a flurry of strikes and backs Ku into her corner. Yoya comes in the ring and YoKai hits some double team moves leading to a near fall. Ku comes back and throws Kai across the ring, then gives her a nasty kick to the back, which seems to wake her up. Kai returns with strikes of her own, but Ku counters with a Dragon Screw Legwhip. Kai makes the tag to Yoya.

Yoya avoids a charging Ku, who falls to the outside. Ku tries to avoid Yoya, but Yoya takes him to the ground with a rana. Yoya hits some strikes on the outside and throws Ku back in, but Ku hits a Dragon Screw Legwhip in the ropes. Ku tags in Dom. Dom dominates Yoya. He gets Yoya on his back and makes the tag to Ku. Dom drives Yoya’s spine onto his knee and Ku drops him with a kick to the sternum. Ku locks in a single leg crab and tries to transition. Yoya escapes and hits Ku with a running knee to the head.

Yoya makes the tag to Kai, who takes out both opponents, then lays into a series of kicks on both of them. He comes in and Kai hits a step up kick off his back. They then hit Ku with a low/high combination. Ku tags in Dom, who ends up getting the better of the striking exchange. He tries to get Kai up for a brainbuster, but Kai locks him in a Dragon Clutch. Ku comes in to make the save, but Yoya puts him in a submission. Both VIF members appear to be in trouble, but Ku picks up Yoya and launches him at Dom and Kai.

Ku and Yoya now exchange strikes in the middle of the ring. Ku gets the advantage, but Yoya keeps coming back. YoKai hits a double team maneuver with Kai kicking Ku in the face while Yoya rolls him up for a pin. This move has won them many matches, but Dom comes in and makes the save. Yoya and Dom face off and while Yoya may be one of the smallest competitors in wrestling he will not back down from anyone. Dom locks in a sleeper hold, but Kai hits him with a Superkick. This however leads to VIF hitting double team maneuvers on both members of YoKai culminating in a Brainbuster/Kick combo on Yoya for the win.

The main event tag team match is between A Tribe Called Catch, Darius Lockhart and Suge D against Lee Moriarty and Pretty Boy Smooth. At Enjoy’s “Night Moves” show Darius and Lee had an incredible match that many had as a match of the year contender. Lee came out with the win in that match, so Darius got his tag team partner and is looking to get that win back. A Tribe Called Catch will have the experience advantage as a team, but Lee’s partner, PB Smooth, will have the size advantage when he is in the ring, as he does against almost all of his opponents.

Lee starts the match against Suge, with the crowd fully behind the hometown Moriarty. They exchange holds and Lee gets the advantage after Suge tries to aggravate the crowd. Suge answers with a toe lock but Lee escapes and they exchange 1 counts. They end up intertwined and make the way to their respective corners. PB and Darius come in the ring. Darius keeps control of PB’s arm until PB flips him over and Darius makes the tag to Suge. Suge tries to hit shoulder blocks on PB, with very little effect. Suge acts like he is going for another shoulder block but locks in a head lock. PB whips him off the ropes and knocks Suge to the mat. PB takes control of Suge’s arm.

Suge makes the tag, but PB throws Suge into Darius. Darius takes out PB’s legs and Suge comes in the ring, but PB picks Darius up and hits Suge with him. Suge gets up and slaps PB in the face, angering PB, who throws Suge in the corner. Suge avoids a charging PB and goes after PB’s legs. Darius gets the tag and continues the assault on PB’s legs.

A Tribe Called Catch make frequent tags and focus on the legs of PB. They try to hit multiple elbow drops on PB, but PB is able to avoid them all and makes the tag to Lee. Lee comes in with a ton of energy and to the delight of the crowd. Lee works over Suge, hitting him with a suplex, but Suge gets the tag and gives us the match up that we have been waiting for, Lee against Lockhart. They have a very quick exchange and Darius gets a 2 count after a big clothesline, then makes the tag to Suge.

Suge hits a diving forearm to the back of Lee’s head, then hits an elbow drop for a near fall. Suge locks in the body scissors and makes the tag to Darius, who works on Lee’s arm. Lockhart ties Lee up in the ropes and drops him to the floor with a dropkick. They exchange kicks as they are both grounded. Darius makes the tag to Suge and Suge tries to keep Lee from making a tag himself, but Lee slides away from both members and makes the tag to PB.

PB takes on both men, he takes out Darius with a spinebuster, then slams Suge to the mat followed by a leg drop for a near fall. PB and Suge exchange strikes and Suge gets the advantage with a headbutt followed by a German Suplex. Lee comes in, but gets met by both members of TCC, who drive him into the mat with a double team Styles Clash. PB breaks up the pin and drags Lee to the corner for the tag.

PB and Lee hit an assisted bulldog on Darius, then PB locks him in a full nelson. Darius counters and rolls PB up for the victory. A Tribe Called Catch gets the victory, but Lockhart still does not look happy. It appears that this rivalry between Lockhart and Moriarty is still far from over. After the match Darius gets in Lee’s face and says that he wants another one-on-one match. Lee wants it now, but Darius walks away. Lee says that this rematch will happen.

Next week is a huge show. We will have a very interesting matchup pitting Evil Uno of the Dark Order against Edith Surreal. Then MV Young will defend his Enjoy Wrestling Championship in a casket match against Mr. Grim.
