Effy’s Big Gay brunch will be part of GCW’s Collective weekend and will open the day on Saturday April 2, at 11 am CST in Dallas. The event will be broadcast live on FiteTV if you are not in the Dallas area to witness this extravaganza live. This will be the fifth event that Effy has held in conjunction with GCW, he has had 3 other brunches and a Big Gay Block. The previous brunches have stolen the weekend with incredible matches like Edith Surreal vs Dark Sheik, JD Drake vs MV Young, Jake Atlas vs Effy and so much more. Those events also brought the pomp and circumstance that only Effy can bring to a show.

This year’s show looks to be no different. There are some matches that look to be absolutely incredible, like Carlos Romo vs Jai Vidal, some matches that we thought we would never see, like Dango vs Allie Katch, and matches that we have absolutely no idea what will happen in.

In one of the most intriguing matches of the event we have a true beauty versus the beast match up in Edith Surreal against Max The Impaler. Max will be accompanied to the ring by Amy Rose. Rose will have the unenviable task of trying to control this monster. Edith has taken on bigger opponents in the past. The last time that we saw these 2 face off it ended with Max carrying her into the wasteland. Edith will need to use her technical prowess to take down Max and hope that she can make the monster tap out, but that will not be an easy task.

Another match that has a very pronounced size differential is Parrow against Dark Sheik. Parrow may be a lot larger than Sheik, but Sheik will not step down from anyone. I have a feeling that this match may get a little ultraviolent. Dark Sheik has stolen the show in a previous Brunch with a technical masterpiece against Edith, but it is going to be very hard to get Parrow down. In fact, Parrow has gone through multiple Twink Gauntlets in previous Brunches and dealt with multiple competitors at once. Both of these competitors are very familiar with using weapons, so look for this match to get very violent very quickly.

In what should be one of the quickest and fast paced matches of the event Jai Vidal takes on Carlos Romo. Romo may not be as familiar to the American audience as some of the other competitors, but I can guarantee that after seeing him wrestle you will be very impressed with his speed and aerial offense. He is taking on one of the rising stars of the west coast and possibly the ace of LA Fights. Jai has had incredible matches at LA Fights against Keita Murry and Kevin Blackwood and recently went up against Blake Christian in GCW. Look for this match to be full of excitement and possibly steal the show.

A match that I really do not know what to expect from is Allie Katch against Dango. We all know Dango from his time in the WWE. Effy has said that he made this match due to Allie’s crimes against fashion and Dango will look to make Allie pay for those crimes. He has been very impressive in his matches since he left the WWE. Dango better not be taking Allie lightly though, as Allie is always looking for a fight and she can get the win in any kind of match that she is put in. No matter if it is a technical match, a fight, or even a hardcore match, Allie can find a way to win. Another thing to look at for this match is the fashion, because you know both Dango and Allie are going to bring it.

There will be a 4 way tag match involving some of the most talented wrestlers in the indies today. The first team is Petty in Pink, Dillon McQueen and Kenzie Paige, who dominated the tag team division in New South. They are going to let you know exactly how good they are. The next team is Devon Monroe and Brooke Valentine, who may not be a regular tag team, but are each very talented wrestlers. Neither are strangers to The Big Gay Brunch.

The team that has the most experience together is MSP, Danger Kid and Aiden Agrro. They are one of the top tag teams in the Northeast and have taken on teams like Bear Country, The Sea Stars and The Workhorsemen. If you are looking for tag team chemistry, this is the team to keep an eye on.

However, there may not be a team walking into the brunch with as much confidence as AC Mack and Ashton Starr. AC Mack recently became the IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion by defeating Alex Shelly. Since obtaining that belt AC Mack and Ashton Starr have been a thorn in the side of everyone from the Northeast.

A top star from the West Coast, and WAC Champion, Keita Murray will look to cement himself as a top name against one of the biggest stars in independent wrestling, and the #1 rated wrestler in Outsports QWI, Billy Dixon. Billy appears to be very fired up for this weekend, but we will see what kind of condition he is in after facing Hoodfoot the day before in a deathmatch. Do not look for Keita to feel sorry for Billy or take it easy on him, as Keita is looking to prove that he deserves to be on the top of the card and on the top of that list.

The host of the event, EFFY,  handpicked his opponent and looks to prove himself against one of the top Exoticos from Mexico, Pimpinela Escarlata. Pimpinela is a 34 year veteran, who has won multiple championships in AAA among other promotions in Mexico. Pimpinela will surely be one of the best dressed people at the brunch, as the Exoticos typically are. Effy is going to try to make sure that he doesn’t get distracted and get a loss on his own show. He is going to be very busy, not only putting on this show, but will also be going against Minoru Suzuki the night before the brunch. This match should be very exciting as both competitors are going to not only look incredible, but also give everything that they have in the ring.

In addition to these matches we will also see the long awaited return to the states of Shay Purser, the brunch debut of the always popular Kidd Bandit, Jordan Blade, Pollo Del Mar, and so much more that you’ve come to expect from Effy’s Big Gay Brunch.

I have watched wrestling all of my life, from WWF and NWA to ECW and then indie shows. I have been steadily going to independent wrestling shows since 2002.
