Independent wrestling star Joey Janela tweeted out this morning that he will be unable to wrestle at GCW this weekend. On April 16th, Janela teamed with Sanshiro Takagi and Takeshi Masada to take on Atsushi Onita, Shunma Katsumata and Toi Kojima in a 6-Man Tag Explosion Match. The match took place at DDT’s “Dramatic Explosion in Niigata.” Janela took the pinfall after Onita hit him with an exploding bat. He received second degree burns from the explosion.

Today Janela tweeted, “The burn on my arm is only getting worse, since it’s on a joint the flexibility on my left arm is severely limited. I will be going to a hospital later.”

Janela was scheduled to take on Bryan Keith at “Into The Light” on Friday in Atlanta, and recent AEW signee Komander at “Scene of the Crime” in Orlando on Saturday. He will still be appearing at these events selling merchandise.

It is unknown when or if these matches will be rescheduled. His replacement for these matches hasn’t been announced.
