To start the show, the ring announcer, Marco said that there is something that he needs to get off his chest. He calls out Steel Dragon and Laura Loveless, who attacked him last week. Marco said that a lot of people have been thinking they can talk down to him and treat him poorly, but he has had enough. He said that he will no longer be ring announcing, because starting at MV Young’s Big BBQ 2 he will be a wrestler, and his first match will be against Steel Dragon. Dragon and Laura attack Marco, but Marco is able to fend them off with a little assistance from fellow ring announcer Honey Darling.

In our first match of the night we have the 880 champion Gianni Michael Emricko, along with Frank “he used to be a real piece of shit” Deville. I’m not sure if this is an intentional Mitch Hedberg joke, but Frank in fact is still a piece of shit, as he kept interfering in this match that Gianni had against Felix Koz. Feliz is a very tall wrestler, and very athletic, but he is also very new. Gianni and Frank used Felix’s inexperience to their advantage throughout the match. Koz appeared to have the upset victory, but Frank put Gianni’s foot on the rope. Frank then distracted Felix, and allowed Gianni to hit a powerbomb for the win. Gianni continued to embarrass Felix by putting him in a choke hold after the match was finished. Gianni will not have as easy of a match at MV Young’s Big BBQ 2, as he will have to defend his championship against both MV Young and Brohemeth.

Our next match is a tag team match between The Wilde Flowers, Nix Wilde and Tatiana, and Carter J. Collins and Joe Murphy. The Wilde Flowers always have a ton of energy whenever they come out to the ring and have all the sparkles, while Carter comes to the ring with a polo on and bullies his tag team partner throughout the match. The Wilde Flowers work much better as a unit and defeat Collins and Murphy with a very impressive tag team maneuver where Nix uses Tatiana as a weapon to pin their opponent.

Out next is Dior Castro with Amanda George. Dior has really come into his own since joining 880. His attitude has been obnoxious, but you cannot deny that he has had an extremely impressive record, even if some of his wins come in nefarious ways, many times with the assistance of Amanda. Dior’s opponent tonight is a fan favorite, Brandon St James. BSJ seemed to have the match won and climbed to the top rope to finish Dior off, but Amanda took BSJ’s feet out from underneath him and he came down crotch first on the turnbuckle. Never one to turn down an opportunity, Dior hits BSJ with a superman punch while Brandon is still hung up in the corner. This gets Dior the win, but is not enough for him, as he attacks BSJ after the bell. This brings out KC Warr. KC brings out a contract for a match against Dior at MV Young’s Big BBQ 2 and Dior signs it without reading it. KC tells us that may have been a mistake as he just signed for a no holds barred match.

Juni Underwood comes to the ring and says that last time he was here he defeated five guys. This time he will issue his open challenge again, but only one person can answer it. This brings out Reese Hayes. Reese is a very impressive young wrestler, who has an amateur wrestling style, however Reese has not had much luck in the win column. My stats may not be up to date, but I believe he is currently 0-32. Of course, Juni thinks that this is going to be an easy match, but it is anything but easy. Reese hits a series of suplexes and hits Juni with a 619. Reese is on a roll and tries for another 619, but Juni catches him and hits Reese with a Sister Abigail for the win. Juni gets on the mic and says that he is the king of Pittsburgh and even has a flower crown. This brings out Brandon St James who challenges him to a match at MV Young’s Big BBQ 2.

MV Young’s Big BBQ 2 will take place on July 28 at 6pm. 880 has weekly shows on Thursdays at 8pm on IndyWrestlingUS’s Twitch channel.
