CANUSA has been one of the most unique and entertaining events that has been held throughout the years. It pits the best female wrestlers in Canada against the best of the USA. This is the sixth installment of the CANUSA. The first CANUSA was in 2013 and the USA came out on top after Christina Von Eerie defeated LuFisto in a falls count anywhere main event. The CANUSA shows that followed had such standouts as Ruby Soho, Kimber Lee, Amazing Kong, Candice LeRae, Mia Yim and more.

The opening contest sees MILEY, representing Canada, against Zoey Skye, from the USA. Zoey has the experience advantage in the match, but MILEY has been on an incredible rise in the past year.

The crowd is behind their fellow Canadian, MILEY, but Zoey slows down the match to try to keep the crowd and MILEY, from getting into the match. Every time MILEY seems to be getting the advantage, Zoey is able to counter and take back control of the match. However, MILEY is able to surprise Zoey and get the win with a Spinning Fisherman’s Buster to give Canada the early advantage.

Alexia Nicole looks to keep the momentum going for team Canada, but has a tough matchup in Dream Girl Ellie. Ellie was a late addition to the show, but is not someone to be taken lightly, as she has been one of the top stars in OVW. Ellie is showing no respect to the veteran, Alexia, mocking her and taking every shortcut possible. She picks up the win with a sit-down face buster in what has to be considered an upset to even the score at 1-1.

The Canadian legend, Lufisto, looks to give Canada the advantage, but she has a very tough task ahead of her in the form of Janai Kai. Kai uses her kicks to try to break down the veteran, but Lufisto uses her strength advantage and is giving Kai a very unfriendly welcome to Canada. Kai shows how tough she is by kicking out of the Snowplow, then knocks Lufisto out with a beautiful spinning kick to the head and gives the USA a 2-1 advantage.

The powerhouse, Seleziya Sparkz, looks to even the score for Team Canada against the high flying Dani Mo. The crowd is a little split on this match, as they want to root for the home team, but it is always tough to root against the spunky Dani Mo. Sparkz, in return, is showing no love for the crowd, but looks very impressive, using not only her power, but also her athleticism.

Sparkz hits a very impressive spine buster, them locks in a submission, but Dani is able to get to the ropes. Sparkz is ruthless with her attack, but Dani is able to hit her with a rana from the top.  Dani then hits a flying forearm, after walking the ropes. She goes for a Code Red, but Sparkz counters it with an Air Raid Crash for the win to even the score 2-2 in a very entertaining match.

In a non-tournament match, Jody Threat takes on Maki Itoh. Maki comes to the ring singing and gets a “Happy Birthday” chant from the crowd. The match is very even in the beginning and the crowd is behind both competitors.

Maki gets the advantage and gives Jody a face wash in the corner, followed by a DDT from the middle rope onto the apron. It was not enough to put Jody away. Jody answers with a Michinoku driver, but Maki keeps fighting back. Maki is able to get the win with a DDT from the middle rope in a great match.

The captain of Team Canada, Rosemary, takes on the captain of Team USA, JesSICKa, with a special guest referee, Bunny. Bunny AKA Allie, has been a longtime member of the SMASH roster and has captained both teams USA and Canada in past CANUSAs. She also has quite a long history with both Rosemary and JesSICKa.

This match comes with a lot of emotions and history that spans multiple dimensions. Rosemary looked to have the advantage in the match, but JesSICKa counters a spear attempt with a knee to Rosemary’s head and then lands a Sick Kick. JeSICKa picks Rosemary up and looks to finish her off, but Rosemary slips away and hits a spear for the win. This gives Canada the win in the sixth installment of CANUSA.

This was an excellent show and lived up to the amazing CANUSA shows of the past. This show is available for free on YouTube. You can also see some matches from previous CANUSA shows and relive the history of the rivalry between Rosemary, JeSICKa and Allie on their YouTube channel.
