LuFisto has pulled herself off of events this upcoming weekend following an interview with Fightful.com where she made claims about the AEW locker room being toxic.
In the interview the 25+ year Canadian veteran talked about her experience backstage during an AEW Dark taping back in April of last year, clarifying a tweet she has previously made about the locker room being toxic. From her experience during the tapings she felt as if the women’s locker room was hostile towards her.
This has become the subject of controversy this past week causing the AEW locker room to speak out against it. AEW World Champion MJF, as well as Britt Baker, Nyla Rose, Renee Paquette, Ruby Soho, Saraya and Taya Valkyrie all took to Twitter to defend the company’s locker room.
LuFisto replied “Good that everybody at AEW got the memo to write as much shit on me as possible so I can be in seen as a waste of a human being not worth livin, even people who never had a single conversation with me. Even better to see people I never did anything wrong being so desperate to get a job, jumping on the bandwagon. Soon, I’ll see you hypocrites be part of Be a Star and mental health matters advertisements acting like you care. Enjoy your paychecks and keep on stabbing each other in the back pretending this is normal. I can only hope that your hate towards me will get you to finally f**king work together for the best of women’s wrestling, now that problems have been called out. So many are miserable, frustrated and will whisper their anger, but never will stand and speak up. I wanted to leave this world knowing women’s wrestling was better. It was for a while, but not anymore. The sad part is that you accept it without saying a word. It is what it is. What a waste.”
Since then LuFisto has deactivated her Twitter account.
It was announced today that LuFisto has withdrawn from two events this upcoming weekend, following the controversy. The Independent Wrestling Hall of Famer will no longer be appearing at this Saturday’s Blitzkrieg Pro event titled “You’re So Last Summer” which was set to take place in Brattleboro, Vermont. Her match for this event was never announced.
We regret to inform you all that LuFisto has also withdrawn from “You’re So Last Summer” this Saturday in Brattleboro, VT.
We are sending her all the good vibes and hope to work together one day. pic.twitter.com/trsWLPOng8
