Former MLW Tag Team Champions and two-thirds of the Samoan SWAT Team stable, Lance Anoa’i and Juicy Finau, were given their MLW releases. Both wrestlers confirmed this on their Twitter accounts yesterday.
Anoa’i and Finau last wrestled at the MLW Never Say Never live event in July, where they lost the MLW Tag Team Championships to Rickey Shane Page and Akira from The Calling. Since then, neither has been seen or worked in the company.
Anoa’i is a 13-year vet who is the son of Samu and cousin of Roman Reigns, Jimmy & Jey Uso, and Solo Sikoa. He also recently wrestled in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH.
Finau has made a big splash on the independent scene since debuting. He has credited Jacob Fatu for taking him under his wing and learning so much from him.
Speaking of Jacob Fatu, the third member of the Samoan SWAT Team is set to face Alex Kane for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship at MLW’s Fightland on November 18th.
