The EVOlution spread world wide on June 30th as Pro Wrestling Evo presented their first Ippv 'Live & In Stereo' from Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. World Heavyweight Champion Zack Salvation battled Cedric Alexander, 2 Kings went to war for 20 minutes as KC McKnight & Marcellus King could not find resolution in their feud on this night. Also Arik Royal showed the Pro Wrestling World live on Ippv that he is not to be taking lightly  as he brutalized and eventually defeated Kirby Mack in a phenomenal match. The following is a full review of this historic night in the EVOlution of PWEvo. Commentators for the event alongside “The Voice of Pro Wrestling Evo” Chris Shore included EVO talents Kirby Mack, John Skyler, & Adam Page. Your ring announcer for the event was Corky Franks

Matches are rated 1-5 stars and overall show from 1-10. Remember the Following is……

SuperHEX SemiFinals
Chiva Kid vs Joe Black

The show kicked off with SuperHEX action with a spot in the finals on the line. Both men entered tied on the SuperHEX leaderboard tryin to advance and face Kirby Mack for the first SuperHEX championship at 'This Is Wrestling'. Early on,  Chiva used his speed, while Joe used his strenght early, as both men came to a stalemate. Black finally got the early advantage and turned Chiva inside out with a short arm clothesline. Chiva immediately came back with a rolling northern lights suplex into a roundhouse kick, and followed it up with a springboard shooting star press for a nearfall. Chiva again took to familiar ground on the top rope, missing and landing on his feet but getting turned inside out by a spear as Black scored a nearfall. The two SuperHEX athletes then battled on the top rope with Chivas hitting a springboard Ace Crusher with just two minutes remaining in the match. Chiva again went high risk as time was winding down and hit an insane double moonsault with height that you will rarely if ever see on any wrestling show anywhere and got the win to advance to the SuperHEX finals.

#1MansOpinion: Chiva & Joe Black showed why they both hovered around the top of the SuperHEX leaderboard for the last 6 months in this opening contest. Black used his power turning Chiva inside out on several occasions. Chiva used his speed and unmatched high risk moves but neither man would give up until the final minute when Chiva hit a move that I dare say no one could kick out of. Pro Wrestling Evo continued their tradition here of phenomenal opening matches and if you're playing along at home I'd say you're $1.99 is already well spent for the Ippv event. *** 1/2

Trevor Lee & Ben Tyler are shown backstage giving their thoughts on the opening match but the discussion quickly turns to admiring each others muscles(as The Fun Athletic Guys do). Focus switches to their match later with Corey Holis & Chip Day and both men lay out plans for who is going to pick up the pin for their team later in the night and Tyler & Lee agree to disagree and go do some crunches before the match.

“The Southern Savior” John Skyler vs Adam Page

Skyler is out first and receives the coldest of welcomes from the EVO fans, Skyler is looking for his first win. Adam Page is debuting for Pro Wrestling Evo and looking to make a name for himself on Ippv. Skyler gets the early advantage, using his arrogance to draw the ire of the ringside fans who are solidly behind Adam Page. Page & Skyler with a beautiful chain wrestling display which sees Page come out on top with a pair of arm drags and a leg lariat to take control of the match. Skyler sidesteps Page and his ribs crash into the ring post, and The Southern Savior has his target as he begins working on those ribs. Page is still yet to recover from the high impact shots to the ribs and Skyler hits one of the prettiest dropkicks you'll see in pro wrestling for a nearfall.  Page doesn't have any quit in him and is able to escape. Great exchange with Page getting a rollup, Skyler blocking a superkick attempt and Page hitting an ensuguiri leaving both men down on the mat. Page takes back control with knife edge chops, a powerslam and a standing shooting star press getting a nearfall after each move. Skyler not to be deterred comes back with his patented superkick but still cannot put Adam Page away. Sklyler continues to try everything, including the “Love Gun” springboard spear and the “Spoiler Alert” his version of Sliced Bread but still cannot get the victory! Page mounts a comeback hitting a short superkick followed by a powerbomb backstabber but Skyler kicks out just before three! Skyler again goes for the “Spoiler Alert” and Page reverses it but Skyler shoves him towards the referee and uses the distraction to hit a low blow and pick up his first win in Pro Wrestling Evo.

#1MansOpinion: If ever two opponents were “game” and “hungry” to pick up their first win and on Ippv no less it was Adam Page & John Skyler. Page is making a name for himself throughout the southeast independent scene and this will not be the last you hear or see of him. Skyler has looked impressive since debuting for Pro Wrestling Evo in January and did a little show called Smackdown a few weeks back, but on this night he finally got over the hump getting his first PWEvo win in a great back and forth matchup. *** 1/2

Backstage promo with Pro Wrestling Evo Heavyweight Champion Zack Salvation who discusses the two year Journey of the company and details the history of the belt he now holds including Cedric Alexander defeating him at the first Evo Eight Tournament to become the first EVO Champion and Salvation defeating Alexander at the 2nd Evo Eight to become #1 contender before winning the championship. Salvation talks about Alexander feeling he is “owed” something and says this company is built on earning what you get and invites Cedric to come and get the  title because Salvation is here!

Derek Ryze vs Robyn Golphin
Ryze looking for his second straight win since debuting at May's 'Vive La Evolucion' matches up nearly identically with “Relentless” Robyn Golphin in size and both men have similar styles. Golphin drew the attention of EVO oficials at an open tryout in September of 2011 and is looking or that first win to push him over the top. The two start with a nice standing switch series before testing each other with shoulder tackles, Ryze gets the advantage with a cheap shot. The action heats up quickly with Ryze hitting a rolling dive through the middle rope. Golphin not to be outdone regains advantage in the ring and dumps Ryze outside hitting a twisting senton from the apron to the floor. Ryze again takes advantage with a drop toe hold into the corner followed by his lightning quick kicks and then takes the wrist tape off choking Golphin and wearing the Relentless one down. Golphin briefly fights back with a springboard DDT but Ryze again cuts him off and delivers some sick kicks to the small of the back, followed by a running knee to the face. A move simply called “Kick to the Face” gets Ryze a near fall but Golphin has no quit in him, sliding under the bottom rope and hitting a springboard lariat but again Ryze cuts him off with a chinbreaker. Ryze sets Golphin on the top but takes too much time and Golphin hits a vicious double stomp to the back of the neck. Golphin delivers some kicks of his own and hits “Welcome 2 Detroit” double arm cradle DDT for a nearfall.  Ryze back in control delivers a modified GTS/Ace Crusher combo but Golphin gets his foot on the bottom rope before the 3. Ryze sets Golphin up on the top for a Superplex but Golphin lives up to his moniker “Relentless” and fights out hitting an incredible top rope spining neckbreaker he calls the “relapse” finally getting over the hump to earn his first victory!

#1MansOpinion: Ryze “Face Kicking” Tour 2012 was derailed a bit at Live & In Stereo as Robyn Golphin just would NOT go away. Both men pulled out all the stops and look to be long term players in Pro Wrestling Evo. Ryze's kicks as i've said before are lightning quick and Golphin continues to come up with innovative offensive manuevers. Another fantatstic match here on Ippv from two tremendously talened youngsters with lots moer to come from each of them. *** 1/4

Backstage promo: Marcellus King asks KC McKnight how dare he walk in the front door of “his house” and says he's ready for a fight because he hasn't done anything but fight since he's been here. Marcellus says EVO isn't big enough for two Kings and tonight Port City King vs Mid Atlantic King, McKnight will not use him a stepping stone for greatness.

Kirby Mack vs Arik Royal

Mack adorned in a t-shirt that reads “Who needs the gym when you have talent” never shy to boast treats the crowd to a poem in the style of Arthur Rosenberg who you may have seen up near amongs the skylights on a recent episode of RAW. Arik Royal is pacing in the corner, all business as the bell rings and this grudge match is on. Mack starts out with kicks to the massive legs of Royal that have no effect, finally Royal catches the leg and sends Kirby halfway across the ring showing his dominating power. Mack counters with the speed game hitting a pair of head scissors before being cut off by Royal and once again knocked hard to the mat. Mack again uses his speed to get the advantage and grounds Royal but the big man turns it into a lifting powerbomb. Again Mack tries to keep Royal grounded but never one to shy away from performing, Mack hits the “Sprinkler” elbow drop only getting a one count. Royal hits an atomic drop/backbreaker combo nearly breaking Mack in half and once again capitalizing on his size and strength advantage. Royal then applies a bearhug attempting to squeeze anything Mack has left out of him. Mack finally fights out of the bearhug with a codebreaker that leaves both men down. Kirby takes advantage as the match wears on  Royal who maybe gassing out a bit which allows Mack a nearfall but Royal switches into another gear. Arik Royal hits a backbreaker on the ring apron followed by a hanging ddt on the concrete floor just brutalizing Kirby Mack now. Royal, not yet satisfied gets Mack in the wheelbarrow position and sweeps out the 2nd and 3rd row seats on the floor by using KIRBY MACK'S SKULL!!!! Royal is having fun now and screams “Finish Him!” hoisting Kirby up and marching around the ring before crashing down to the match with a variation of a Samoan drop and Mack kicks out at 2 & 9/10! Kirby just  fighting back now on instincts and is cut off  as Royal hits a tilt-a-whirl facebuster for another nearfall. Royal sets up a chair in the corner and goes for the wheel barrow swing but Mack reverses into a DDT. Roya kicks out and again instictively Mack locks on a guillotine choke, Royal makes it to the ropes and Mack hits two superkicks that have no effect! Royal again grabs the chair, swing and a miss and Mack lands a superkick directly this time followed by the “OverDoze” but still cannot put Royal away! Mack is now frustrated with the ref and arguing for a three count giving Royal time to hit the devestating “Kurt Cobain” sick kick picking up the win!

#1MansOpinion: This was the truest definition of a Grudge Match! Move after move and neither man would give up. Royal brutalized Mack in ways we haven't seen before and seemed to take pleasure in doing so as the match wore on. The nearfalls were as suspensful as they come and each move more vicious than the last. This was #1MansMatchOfTheNight and I have a feeling I'm not going to be alone in that opinion. Arik Royal elevated himself to main event status in one night and proved that he is up for any task Pro Wrestling Evo puts in front of him. Kirby Mack in a losing effor on this night displayed athleticism, drive and main event tendendices as well. Mack must now focus on the SuperHEX finals and Whatever is next for Royal you can bet he'll be ready. If you're still playing along at home, this Ippv that is available for just $1.99 has now given you $15 of entertainment through just 4 matches and that could be a low figure! **** 1/2

Fun Athletic Guys(Trevor Lee & Ben Tyler) vs Corey Hollis & Chip Day
Hollis & Lee starting the match for their teams with great fast paced, amateur wrestling. Hollis gets the early advantage with a firemans carry takeover but Lee Responds with a headlock takover and the two run the ropes with Hollis hitting a high impact dropkick. Day tagged into the match and wastes no time in delivering some brutal kicks to Trevor Lee who just as quickly tags out and Day takes over with kicks on Ben Tyler. Day & Hollis continue the early advantage with great tag team wrestling including a double hip toss and rotating leg drops until Lee low bridges Hollis as he hits the ropes and The Fun Athletic Guys take over. Fun Athletic Guys keep Hollis isolated and tag in and out keeping the fresh man in but when they had the opportunity to put it away they opted for a cocky cover which willl not get the job done against Hollis & Day. Hollis finally hits an exploder suplex giving him the opening he needs and Tyler and Day both get hot tags and Day cleans house with those brutal kicks on both the Fun Athletic Guys. Day continues after his opponents with a rolling suicide dive into the second row! Hollis & Day hit their tandem corner kick called “At the Same Damn Time” for a nearfall and the action begins to break down with all four men in the ring. Hollis & Day hit a step up ensurguiri, followed by a release suplex and “Diamond Knees” for a nearfall.  The Fun Athletic Guys display their tag team wrestling credentials hitting the “GutCheck” drop toe hold & knee lift combo but Hollis flies halfway across the ring with a frogsplash to break up the pinfall. Great exchange with Tyler hitting a backbreaker, Day hitting the most brutal of roundhouse kicks and Hollis hitting a Angle Slam as all four men are down. Tyler attempting a Superplex on Day and Hollis comes to his partners resuce only to have Trevor Lee powerbomb the entire group down in a “Tower of Doom” superplex/powerbomb combination!!! Tyler catches Hollis on the top & sends him to the floor, Day charges into the corner & Tyler slams his head into the ring post as Trevor Lee gets the roll up with a handful of tights for the victory.

#1MansOpinion: Tag Team Wrestling never disappoints in Pro Wrestling Evo and it was no different on June 30th live on Ippv! 4 of the most athletic and technically sound tag team wrestlers in the Southeast gave one another everything they had and more. Hollis & Day's combination of Super Charged Kicks and Innovative offense  was defeated on this night by the cocky, outlandish, yet extremly talented Fun Athletic Guys. Tag Team Wrestling LIVES  in Pro Wrestling Evo! *** 1/2

A very good King vs King Promo is shown prior to the next match

King vs King
“Port City King” KC McKnight vs Marcellus “The Mid Atlantic” King

2 of the best in the Southeast collided in this one and made good on each and every word they said leading up to this encounter. Both men said it would be a fight and it went past fighting, past brawling to being an EPIC battle! The two wasted no time in hooking up and exchanging solid shots with McKnight getting the better of the early exchange as Marcellus ducked out of the ring. King takes advantage of McKnight losting sight of him and gets the advantage as King and McKnight fight into the crowd and around the ringside area. Back in the ring McKnight shows his techinical proficiency with a northern lights suplex getting a two count. King quickly takes back over raking the boot across KC's face and delivering a couple of big boots. McKnight again battled back and took the action back outside including pounding on Marcellus as he sat on the laps of myself and some of the ringside fans. OUCH! King back on the offensive and clears the fans out delivering a modified backdrop into the second row of seats on McKnight who appeared to injure his ribs. The Mid Atlantic King focused completely on the ribs and cutting off the breathing of the Port City King but McKnight was not giving up and resonded with a beautiull tiger bomb or a nearfall as the 20 minute time limit quickly elapsing. WIth 30 seconds left McKnight hit a superplex but could not get a cover and the match was declared a time limit draw and the referee still couldn't pull the two apart as they continued the war all the way to the back.

#1MansOpinion: What a Battle!!!! Everything these guys said it would be and more. This match is the beginning of what could be a great feud. McKnight & King brutalized one another or 20 straight minutes risking injury and throwing every caution away and looking to settle the score of who the one and true King of EVO is. I for one would love to see these two go at it again and get that answer. ****

Pro Wrestling EVO Heavyweight Title Match
“The Queen City Killer” Zack Salvation(c) v Cedric Alexander
Alexander jawing with the ringside fans early, taking exception to chants of “Coward” as Salvation is getting the better of the early exchanges and Alexander keeps ducking out of the ring. Excellent display of chain wrestling and beautiful  pin attempts & reversals from both men with neither being able to get a decided advantage. Salvation finally gets the first momentum of the match controlling Alexander with headlock takeovers, drop toe holds and hitting a rana out of the corner for a nearfall. Salvation goes for his patented Lou Thesz press variation “Gorilla Knuckles” and Alexander had it scouted to perfection but is met with a spinebuster by the reigning EVO champ for another nearfall. Salvation catapults Alexander to the outside and the two fight around the ringside area, Alexander sets up The Queen City Killer in the front row for his vicious kicks but again Salvation is one step ahead and blocks hitting a big boot of his own that lands Cedric in the second row. Back in the ring, Alexander gets his opening as Salvation misses of the top rope and Cedric knees him in the back sending him to the floor. Alexander continues the assault  going to each side of the ring and laying in vicious kicks to the chest and small of the back. Alexander with a picture perfect dropkick, followed by a neckbreaker as he continues to focus on the neck and back of the champ. Salvation taking a lot of punishment finally buys a moment hitting Alexander coming off the middle rope with a dropkick and follows it up with “Gorilla Knuckles” grounding and pounding Alexander. Alexander takes back over with a full nelson front slam and a modified back stabber both getting near falls. Alexander misses the big kick, Salvation tries for the “ZackLash” and Alexander escapes hitting the Brainbuster! We nearly have the 1st two time champion in EVO history but Salvation kicks out at the last minute! At this point the switch flips and Cedric Alexander knocks out referee Mitch Blalock with a kick! Salvation hits the Zacklash and a second referee comes in but Marcellus King runs down and pulls him out of the ring. The Cirkus doubleteam Salvation with both referees down as Alexander hits the “Kick to Kill” and King hits the “Murder Go Round”. The Cirkus isn't done yet as King slingshots Zack into a superkick, this world title match is going to end in a “No Contest” . The Cirkus turn their attention to the commentary table, and the voice of EVO Chris Shore. The Cirkus have made several threats in the past to Shore and it looks like they are going to cash in on those live on IPPV. King & Alexander grab Shore by the tie and drag him to the ring where Alexander says “The Cirkus owns Evo” and this is far from over with he & Zack Salvation. Alexander then kicks Chris Shore in the gut and delivers the “Kick to Kill” As Pro Wrestling EVO's 1st IPPV end with a hellish Cirkus threatening anyone and everyone in  Pro Wrestling EVO.

#1MansOpinion: Still no score settled between Salvation and Alexander and it looks as though the current Champion's past problems with the two former EVO champions are getting worse and are sure to leave a body count of innocent victims in the Cirkus' wake. Salvation ad Alexander continue to put on consistent four star performances in the ring and tonight was no different but The Cirkus made sure whether you've been following them since their inception or are new to PWEvo you will understand that they are the most dominant group in the company's history. Salvation did everything he could to deny Alexander's second title reign and for another night he did that. But what is the ultimate price that Salvation and the rest of EVO are going to have to pay  as this Cirkus of Nightmares rolls on? ****

#1MansFINALOpinion: This is one time I'm confident that my “1 Mans Opinion” is going to be considered the general consensus and basic common sense. From top to bottom Pro Wrestling Evo presented it's first IPPV with 7 matches featuring 16 of the most talented, hard working, dedicated athletes you will find on a show anywhere for $1.99 and you'd be hard pressed to find that kind of entertainment and sacrifice on a PPV that costs 25 times that much! EVO presented a constant, high quality stream in their first Ippv effort, there were some issues with audio which was promptly taken care of by EVO officials and THAT is the kind of professional product and service you can expect each and every time.   Kirby Mack & Arik Royal brutalized one another inside the ring, outside of  the ring, and kept coming back for more and I for one hope that is not the end of this story. KC McKnight & Marcellus King beat the hell out of one another for 20 solid minutes and still neither man could lay claim to being the only King of EVO. The SuperHEX guys including Joe Black, Chiva Kid, Hollis & Day, Fun Athetic Guys, and Derek Ryze & Robyn Golphin continued to shine and show that at any given time any one of them can steal the show. John Skyler remains one of the best independent wrestlers in the country(and one of the most despised amongst EVO fans) but picked up his first win against a very game Adam Page, who fits in well into the EVO landscape. Zack Salvation carries the EVO championship like a badge of honor and will do whatever it takes to protect that championship from the likes of Cedric Alexander & Marcellus King. The saying goes things always get worse before they get better but just how bad is this Nightmare Cirkus going to get and will Salvation and the rest of Pro Wrestlign EVO be able to triumph or even survive The Cirkus?
