Today I will be reviewing Joey Janela’s Spring Break 7. This show was action packed from top to bottom. I can’t wait to go through this card with you.

Gringo Loco vs Komander vs Jack Cartwheel vs Billie Starkz vs Shane Mercer vs Tony Deppen vs Alec Price vs Cole Rodrick vs Blake Christian

Now this match was for a future championship title shot of the winners choosing and early on as all scrambles go this was extremely chaotic. There was few face to faces here that I would love to see happen in singles matches. This match I found very entertaining as not only was it the usual chaos of a scramble match it also involved ladders and chairs. One thing I’ve always loved about a scramble match is how all the wrestlers get to showcase their abilities in a fast paced match. Blake Christian stole the win by pinning Billie Starkz.

East West Express (Jordan Oliver and Nick Wayne) vs MCMG (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) for the GCW Tag Team Championships

This match was for the GCW tag team championships. MCMG headed into this match with the GCW tag team championships. MCMG started this match off quickly not allowing East West Express to get any momentum to start this off. It wasn’t long before East West Express started to pick up some momentum and increasing the pace of the match. I really enjoyed this match as whilst East West Express worked on increasing the pace of the match MCMG would tear them apart methodically. There was quite a few near falls for both MCMG and East West Express and this was my match of the night. East West Express picked up the win and the tag team titles.

Yoshihiko was having an interview with Emil Jay before Charles Mason and Parrow interrupted them. Charles takes out Yoshihiko and threatens to take him out permanently however Jimmy Lloyd attempts to come to the rescue. Yoshihiko hits a suplex on Parrow and Charles makes a swift exit.

El Hijo Del Vikingo vs Speedball Mike Bailey

This was a high speed fast action match both Vikingo and Speedball Mike Bailey put on one hell of a back and forth. It is a dream match in the making. Speedball Mike Bailey being the master of the kicks and Hijo Del Vikingo is the master of speed. Lots of high risk moves in this match too. A great match from start to the end. High flying match. Hijo Del Vikingo picked up the win.

BUSSY vs Maki Death Kill

This was a very nice back and forth match which was quite enjoyable. I believe this was scheduled for a one time match with Maki and Nick Gage. Maki Death Kill has become extremely popular over the last few months. Nick Gage presented Maki with her own special pizza cutter in this match. As I’ve recently started to get into the deathmatch scene it was nice to see the pizza cutters in action. MDK picked up the win with a double pin. However they didn’t get to celebrate for too long as Matt Cardona and Steph De Lander attacked them from behind and started to address GCW fans.

Steph De Lander vs Masha Slamovich for the GCW World Championship

This was a nice little addition to the card. I really enjoyed this match too as it was a good back and forth match. There was quite a few times where I thought that Steph would pick up the win. Chairs and doors got bought out and chaos took place but it wasn’t long before Matt Cardona once again got involved but before he had a chance to do too much damage Maki Itoh and Nick Gage got him out of the way. Masha quickly picked up a win with a sleeper submission causing Steph to tap out.

Kota Ibushi vs Joey Janela

I had high expectations for this match from the moment it was announced. It definitely exceeded my expectations. This match felt important because it was important. Neither man held anything back in this match and whilst this was my first Kota Ibushi match you could see early on just how respected he is. Janela got busted open quite badly during this match but he refused to let that stop him. I couldn’t believe the intensity of this match. Kota Ibushi picked up the win in the match. After the match Joey Janela said a few words thanking AEW and speaking about Kota Ibushi returning to wrestling.

If you haven’t already seen this show you can catch it on FITE+ and get all the replays from The Collective weekend. I hope you enjoyed the review.
