House Of Glory closed out the year with “The Darkest Hour” that took place at the NYC Arena in Queens, NY on December 1st. It streamed live on Premier Streaming Network. Let’s take a look back at the star studded and action packed card.

Gringo Loco Becomes # 1 Contender For Cruiserweight Title

The evening began with a Six-Way Scrabble Match to determine the # 1 Contender for the HOG Cruiserweight Title. All six superstars had moments in the match. However, the star of the match was Gringo Loco, with the crowd firmly behind him.

Some highlights from the match were Raheem Royal hitting a dive and then a backflip from ring rope to all the competitors outside the ring. Loco hit a well-executed Spanish Fly on Royal and then hit his finisher for the three count to pick up the win.

Result: Gringo Loco defeats Raheem Royal, Joey Silver, Blackmon, Jay Armani & Jodi Aura

Nolo Kitano Retains HOG Cruiserweight Championship With Help Of Anunnakis

Chants of Blackwood came from the crowd throughout the match. They took chops at each other. Kevin Blackwood hit a barrage of suplexes, then hit a stomp from the top turnbuckle on Kitano, who was hanging on the ropes.

The Anunnakis interfered and distracted the ref while Kitano hit Blackwood with mist and his finisher for the three-count to pick up the assisted win.

Result: Nolo Kitano defeats Kevin Blackwood

Ken Broadway Beats Former Partner Encore With Assistance From J Boujii

Broadway controlled the match. Encore would make a comeback; however, momentum would consistently be stopped by Broadway. The crowd is behind Encore. There were multiple nearfalls in this match. Encore hit a big Coup De Grace on Broadway for a near fall. Broadway comes back with a pop-up powerbomb on Encore and Super Kick for near fall.

Encore rolls up Broadway; however, with the ref out of position, a masked man appears who reverses the roll-up, causing Broadway on top to pick up the three count and win. The masked man turned out to be J Boujii. They continued to beat Encore after the match was over.

Result: Ken Broadway defeats Encore

Ultra Violette Retains Her Championship But It Wasn’t Against Kiki Van Gough

After Kiki Van Gough did not appear and was given a ten count by the ref, another wrestler at HOG by the name of Kamar Kouture came down to take her place and challenged Ultra Violette.

The match starts, and there’s some back-and-forth action. It spills to the outside, where they both slap each other. They take action back in the ring, with both competitors having moments. In the end, Ultra Violette pulled out the win.

Result: Ultra Violette defeats Kamar Kouture

HOG Crown Jewel Championship Match Was The Match Of The Night

In my opinion, and many in attendance, the HOG Crown Jewel Match was the match of the night! The match featured 595-day HOG Crown Jewel Champion Charles Mason, taking on Carlos Ramirez.

This match saw a bit of everything. Mason started by hitting Ramirez with the belt before the bell. Mason’s momentum was short-lived as Ramirez took control of the match. Mason made a comeback with a massive DDT over-the-top rope. Both wrestlers battled outside and used the barricade as a weapon.

Back in the ring, Mason hit a powerbomb while carrying Ramirez from the top turnbuckle. Ramirez makes a comeback by hitting a flying headbutt for a near fall. He then hits Mason with a powerbomb, but Mason comes back with a flying dropkick. They take turns slapping each other. Ramirez hit Mason with a suplex off the ring apron onto the concrete floor, which caused a double countout.

Commissioner Solomon came down and said this match will not end like this! He restarted the match and made it a no DQ and falls count anywhere match.

After Mason uses a chair to Ramirez’s back, they leave the ring. Mason grabs a chain and wraps it around the neck of Ramirez. Ramirez is busted open as Mason puts Ramirez’s blood on his face, and the crowd chants, “You sick fu*k!” Ramirez changes the tide of the match and chokes Mason with a chain.

Ramirez goes through the bottom rope, and Mason uses the rope to choke him with the chain again. Mason jumps onto Ramirez from the ring apron, but Ramirez catches Mason and throws him into the post. Mason is busted open now.

The fight made its way into the crowd. Both go to the top of the scaffold in a section of the arena with fans below. Mason throws Ramirez into the crowd of fans below and then does a body splash onto Ramirez and the fans. Mason proceeds to throw Ramirez down the steps leading back to the ring.

As they make their way to the ring, Ramirez hits a huge powerbomb for another near fall. Ramirez now brings thumbtacks into the ring. Ramirez hits a choke slam on Mason from the top rope onto thumbtacks for another near fall.

In the match’s final moments, each took a turn using a plastic bag to try to smother each other. Mason tried first but was unsuccessful in making Ramirez pass out. Ramirez came back and used the bag himself, and as Mason was fading, Ramirez hit his finisher for the three-count to become the new champion.

Result: Carlos Ramirez defeats Charles Mason to become new HOG Crown Jewel Champion

Swerve Strickland Returns To A Massive Pop & Victory

While any Indy crowd is always happy to see “Speedball” Mike Bailey, the huge pop Swerve Strickland received when he came to the ring was undeniable!

The crowd was electric, chanting “Swerve’s House” and “Speedball” simultaneously! Bailey showed his athleticism yet again in this match.

Swerve hit a big flying elbow from the top rope to Bailey’s back. Bailey comes back and hits a beautiful backflip from the turnbuckle onto Swerve outside the ring.

Swerve hits some moves for a few near falls. Bailey then hit a flip on Swerve from the top rope for a near fall. Prince Nana helped Swerve multiple times in the match, and in the end, Swerve Strickland pulled out the victory in a tough-fought contest!

Result: Swerve Strickland defeats Mike Bailey

Main Event Successfully Defend Their HOG Tag Team Titles & Call Out Another Tag Team Champion

This was a good tag team match. Grizzled Young Veterans took control of the early part of the match. The momentum changes when Midas Black makes the tag to Jay Lyon. Lyon does a double suplex to both Drake & Gibson. Lyon then hits the Ring Of Fire onto both opponents outside the ring.

Later in the match, there was a big spot performed by GYV outside the ring. The ending came quickly back in the ring when Jay Lyon got a quick roll-up on Zack Gibson for a three-count.

Result: Mane Event defeats Grizzled Young Veterans

After the match, Black and Lyon tried to shake Drake & Gibson’s hand, but they just walked away. They then called out the IMPACT/TNA World Tag Team Champions, ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey), for a match at the next HOG event called “Brace For Impact” on January 6th.

Mike Santana Comes Back To Hero’s Welcome & Becomes New HOG World Champion

HOG World Champion Matt Cardona came out first and did his usual trashing of the HOG fans. Mike Santana then makes his way out to a hero’s welcome. Cardona said he was so sure he could beat Santana that he’s making this a No Holds Barred Match.

Chairs are brought into a ring, along with a door set up in the corner. Cardona spears Santana through the door. They trade shots back and forth. Santana gets the better as he whips Cardona from corner to corner. Cardona comes back with a code breaker and then his boot to Santana in the corner. Cardona hits Santana with a low blow and then Radio Silence, but Santana kicks out! Cardona then goes to hit Santana with his belt but crashes into the ref instead.

Cardona hits Santana with another low blow, chair shot, and Radio Silence again. The new ref comes in to count, but Santana kicks out at two again!

Cardona hits the new ref that came down and then takes his action figures from a bag and throws them to the crowd. He pours the rest of his action figures into the ring. Santana comes back and hits Cardona with his finisher on the action figures to get the three count and win.

Result: Mike Santana defeats Matt Cardona to become New HOG World Champion.
