Welcome back to the Pro Wrestling Evolution EVO Spotlight. In Volume 12 we take an in depth look at a man who recently returned  Pro Wrestling EVO,  but a man who in  8 years of pro wrestling around the world is regarded as one of the toughest men in the Mid-Atlantic. This week the spotlight shines on….

Stats: 5’10”  234lbs

Hometown:  The Port City, Wilmington NC

Trained By: Former WCW Superstar  The Maestro

How did you get started in Wrestling?I watched Bret Hart compete in 3 incredible matches at the 1993 King of the Ring PPV.  I looked at my mom and said, ‘That’s what I want to do when I grow up.’  So my life’s ambition has been a Power Ranger and a Professional Wrestler…that’s it!  After graduating high school I searched for a few Pro wrestling schools, and the Maestro was the most legit.  He’s one of the VERY few tough guys around, and I don’t care what people say about him, I wouldn’t want to fight him.  Not only has he wrestled in WCW but in Japan, Puerto Rico, Mexico, among others, and he taught me a little from each style.  A lot of guys like the hard hitting style and THINK they know how to accomplish it…but they weren’t trained in it like I was.  I think the cool word for it is, SHOOT wrestling”

Promotions Worked:  Too many to name, but a few; WWE, ZERO-1, ROH, PW EVO, CWF-Mid Atlantic, ACPW and Midnight Mayhem Tv

Titles Held:  “Again, too many to name. I really don’t keep up with what ‘Titles’ I’ve held.  Sure, it’s a sign of respect, but I don’t need a belt to show everyone I’m the best wrestler around.”

Wrestling Influences: Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Fit Finlay, William Regal, Ric Flair

Favorite Opponent(s):I like beating everyone up.  Equal opportunist

Favorite Matches:(You have been involved in) “If I were to show one match to someone who wanted to know what I do, it’d have to be vs Marcellus King.  It was a great physical fight, that I’m still feeling right now.  Also, my match with Gunner is at the top too.  A great back and forth struggle.”
Note: The match with Marcellus King is available at www.evoondemand.com as part of the ‘Live & In Stereo’ Ippv and is well worth your time to check out.

Favorite Matches:(Other Workers)  “Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XII is the greatest form of art ever told in the ring, in my opinion.  If you consider storytelling, physicality, athleticism, and passion, nothing compares.  Basically, any Bret Hart match has a special place in my heart.”

EVO Year In Review: KC McKnight as he stated above, has been seen around the globe in nearly every promotion you can  name including competing with PWEvo in 2011 alongside his partner Charlie Dreamer. It wasn’t until June 2012 that McKnight’s challenge to face the best EVO had to offer was answered and KC returned to Pro Wrestling EVO to face former Champion Marcellus “The Mid Atlantic King” at ‘Live & In Stereo’ What preceded to take place was exactly what both had promised a battle! McKnight & King fought one another for 20 solid minutes and no winner could be declared. Fast Forward to This Saturday, August 25th and McKnight’s focus is unchanged, he still wants the best. Pro Wrestling EVO will once again give him their best as McKnight is one of four men facing off for the EVO Championship at This Is Wrestling on Ippv.  KC will once again battle Marcellus King, along with King’s Cirkus running buddy Cedric Alexander and EVO Heavyweight Champion Zack Salvation for the biggest prize and possibly most presitigious independent championship today. One way or another you WILL be hearing more from “The Port City King” KC McKnight.

Any thoughts you have on PWEvo or it’s Talents:  I wish I had the opportunity to work with Evo a lot more.  Their talent is unmatched.  So many guys on this roster I’d love to test my skills against and see what they’re made of.  If Evo continues with it’s progression in this business, it will be one of the top promotions in the country.

2012 Mission Statement: “The same statement I’ve made every year; Be the best until someone proves me wrong!”
